Letter – Study assessing the usefulness of regular COVID-19 testing in non-acute settings for individuals who undergo aerosol generating procedures
Public Health England (PHE) has been asked by the Chief Medical Officers’ group to undertake a ‘real life’ pilot in relation to people in care homes or those in their own homes who undergo aerosol generating procedures.
This work is to look at the usefulness of testing for individuals who have long term invasive or non-invasive ventilation, and need an aerosol generating procedure as part of their care. PHE want to explore whether regular testing for COVID-19 will help them to return to normal activities.
