 ty Net Gain (BNG) regulations\, which come into force in November 2023\, c
 onsist of a new obligation on all planning permissions and development con
 sent orders (DCOs) to improve the environment by at least 10% as a compuls
 ory planning condition. However given how this can be achieved by offsite 
 provision it opens opportunities for those interested in diversifying the 
 usage of their land holdings. We will also talk generally about options fo
 r land diversification.\n\nThe experts\n\nRob Walton\, partner in RWK Good
 man’s Real Estate team\, will summarise the upcoming legal changes and e
 xplore the practical applications for both developers as well as landowner
 s.\n\nHis talk will be followed up by Joanne Balmer\, Chief Executive Off
 icer at Oakland Care\, who will tell us about her organisation’s experie
 nce of land diversification especially with the view to sustainable usage.

 s\n\n\n\n\n\n 	\nRob Walton\, Partner at RWK Goodman\n\n\nRob is a Real Es
 tate partner with particular specialisms in healthcare\, energy (mainly re
 newables)\, charity and education sectors.\n\nRob is experienced at workin
 g with all types of clients from individual investors\, companies\, school
 s and charities to large PLC retailers. He is a qualified mediator and\, h
 aving worked as a litigator prior to transferring to real estate\, he has 
 an excellent understanding of risk assessment and management in property t
 ransactions.\n\n\n 	\nJoanne Balmer\, Chief Executive Officer at Oakland C
 are\n\n\nJoanne has worked in Care for over 20 years having started by wor
 king in Care Homes at aged 16 as a care assistant.  At 18\, she began tra
 ining to become a Registered Nurse and later undertook a number of nursing
  roles in hospitals and GP surgeries before joining a Welsh Local Health B
 oard where she oversaw the provision and quality of Primary Care Services.
 \n\nIn 2010\, Joanne moved from the NHS to focus on working solely within 
 the Care Home sector where she has undertaken a number of roles including 
 Commissioning Home Manager\, Regional Operations Manager &amp\; Director o
 f Quality.  Most recently before joining Oakland Care she worked for Sunr
 ise Senior Living &amp\; Gracewell Healthcare where she held the position 
 of Senior Director of Care &amp\; Quality for a number of years.\n\n\n 	\n
 Julia Pound\, Head of Natural Capital team at Savills\n\n\nHaving spent th
 e past 14 years providing strategic estate management advice to a number o
 f long term rural landowners from Kent to Cornwall\, she now has particula
 r focus in helping our clients navigate the world of nutrient neutrality a
 nd biodiversity net gain.\n\nHaving graduated from Reading University in 2
 008\, Julia started her career with a national firm based in Kent\, joinin
 g Savills in 2014. Julia has worked in the Oxford\, Exeter and now Taunton
  offices.\n\nFrom a farming background\, Julia has always been interested 
 in the rural economy and the issues and opportunities facing rural landown
 ers in the UK.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
