SUMMARY:Designing Inclusive Environments for People with Dementia
DESCRIPTION:Click here to book your place\n\nPresenters: Sarah Waller CBE a
nd Jennifer Bray\, Association for Dementia Studies\, University of Worces
ter\n\nDescription: In recent years there has been a growing interest in a
nd awareness of the importance of dementia friendly environmental design a
cross all health and care environments as well as for people living with d
ementia in their own homes. There is now a wealth of information and guida
nce about how to assess and create internal and external spaces that will
enable people living with dementia to live well. However\, these are not a
lways evidence based and this presentation will explore the areas where mo
re research is needed. With a focus on the care home and home environment
it will also include practical advice on small scale changes that can impr
 ove care practice.
