DESCRIPTION:On 8 August\, we held an interactive roundtable with Kashif Maj
 eed\, Partner at Aston Brooke Solicitors and Head of the Commercial Health
 care Department on Skilled Worker Sponsor Licences and Immigration Complia
 nce \n\nCompliance remains a key factor underpinning the sponsorship syst
 em\, and sponsors are expected to comply with their sponsorship duties or 
 risk losing their licence.\n\nSponsorship is a privilege not a right. The 
 sponsorship system reflects that those who benefit directly from migration
  should play their part in ensuring the immigration system is not abused.\
 n\nSignificant trust is placed in sponsors and they must ensure they compl
 y with immigration law and wider UK law\, and not behave in a manner that 
 is not conducive to the wider public good.\n\nAs part of the drive to impr
 ove compliance\, the Home Office is taking on a more conjunctive approach 
 to their due diligence checks on sponsors.\n\nSince the launch of the UK
 ’s post-Brexit points based immigration system\, the number of UK busine
 sses approved to sponsor workers from overseas has increased dramatically.
  There are currently over 60\,000 organisations listed on the Home Office
 ’s Register of Worker and Temporary Worker licensed sponsors.\n\nThis s
 ession focussed on the background of the sponsorship process\, the key ele
 ments of each area of compliance and how to avoid pitfalls ensuring provid
