Canterbury Oast Trust (COT) has supported adults with learning disabilities for over forty years by combining person-centred care, accommodation, and life skills training on our working farm and woodland, while also operating the Rare Breeds Centre as a family attraction that helps fund our vision of an inclusive society.
We support 89 adults across 18 accommodation services in Kent and more than 70 others through diverse life skills programs across a range of disciplines. These include culinary arts in our training kitchen, retail and customer service in our gift shop, conservation and woodland management in our ancient woodland and animal care on the farm.
Crucially, our supported people are at the heart of our charity, helping shape everything from hiring decisions and branding to our mission, vision, and values.
We were honoured to be a finalist in the Kent Charity Awards, 2025
