This year, between 16th June and 22nd June, Care Home Open Week offers a fantastic opportunity to celebrate and showcase the vital work of care homes nationwide. Care Home Open Week allows care homes to open their doors to showcase how they create warm and supportive communities for residents and staff.

Care homes play an essential role in providing not just care, but also companionship, joy and a sense of belonging for so many individuals. Care Home Open Week highlights these often unseen aspects, helping to raise awareness and break down myths about care home life. Not only does Care Home Open Week highlight the amazing work of care homes, but also fosters a closer connection between care homes and their local communities, encouraging more people to engage and understand the sector.

This year, two Care England colleagues are proud to be taking part in the Great British Care Cycle Relay as part of the festivities, be sure to follow them along on our social media pages. They will ride the 107km route from Brighton to London, visiting various care services along the way. This journey along with the rest of the routes across the week, celebrates the dedication and passion of the workforce nationwide, emphasising the incredible commitment within the sector.
