Regulating coronavirus (COVID-19) testing – CQC 15.12.2020

Coronavirus (COVID-19) testing providers no longer need to register with CQC.
On 15 December 2020, the law changed. Coronavirus testing has been exempted as a regulated activity under the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014.


Designated settings for COVID-19 patients leaving hospital – CQC – 08.12.2020

CQC are working with the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), local authorities and individual care providers to provide assurance of safe and high-quality care in designated settings, which are part of a scheme to allow people with a COVID-positive diagnosis to be discharged safely from hospitals.

Notification forms 

CQC are making changes to their notification forms to make them easier for you to use and improve the quality of information collected. The death of a service user notification form has now been updated, with other forms being updated soon.

To make sure submitting a notification to us is as easy for you as possible, make sure you are using the latest form either by downloading from the CQC website each time you submit a notification or accessing through the provider portal.
