Elizabeth Finn Homes, a not-for-profit care home group has appointed Carolann Hinson as the new Head of Lifestyle.
Carolann joins Elizabeth Finn Homes with over 30 years of experience in the care sector, starting her career as an activity organiser before moving on to become a student nurse. Over the years her work has focused increasingly on lifestyle and hospitality, working to create meaningful strategies that enhance the day-to-day experience of residents living in a care home environment.
Elizabeth Finn Homes owns and operates eight distinctive care homes where the focus is on personalised, compassionate care and quality of life. All eight homes are rated Good or Outstanding by the CQC, Care Quality Commission, and are set in extensive grounds or gardens.
In her new role, Carolann will lead on further embedding a culture of excellence across all the homes, where exemplary care is not just outstanding levels of clinical care but a holistic approach encompassing lifestyle, social interaction and wellbeing. She will further support Elizabeth Finn homes’ key values – bring love, welcome all, inspire more and act with purpose, making a real difference to the lives of residents and their families.
Commenting on her appointment, Carolann said:
“I feel incredibly proud to be part of an organisation that places such importance on the lived experience of residents, not just the care they receive. What drew me to Elizabeth Finn Homes was its clear commitment to quality and to creating homes where residents are truly valued as individuals.”
According to Carolann, lifestyle isn’t simply about activities on a timetable; it’s about the whole environment, the atmosphere of the home, the dining experience, moments of connection, and ensuring that residents continue to be individuals.
Elizabeth Finn Homes is a wholly owned subsidiary of the charity Turn2us, originally set up by philanthropist Elizabeth Finn as the Distressed Gentlefolk’s Aid Association in 1879. It has a unique history and purpose which sits at the heart of its modern-day policies.
