Home / Resources & Guidance / Data Duplication Survey – DHSC

We recognise that care providers are frequently asked to submit the same information multiple times, creating unnecessary administrative burdens. To address this, the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) is working to streamline data collection and reduce duplication, ensuring that information already provided via Capacity Tracker is not repeatedly requested.

As part of this effort, the DHSC Adult Social Care Data Policy Team has launched the Data Duplication Survey, designed to gather insight from care homes and home care providers on external data requests they receive for information that is already available on Capacity Tracker.

This survey, developed in consultation with Care England and other provider representatives, is straightforward and takes only a few minutes to complete. Your feedback will help build a clearer picture of where duplication occurs and inform steps to improve data collection processes—reducing unnecessary reporting and freeing up valuable time for providers.

Every response matters. The findings will be shared on Capacity Tracker and will shape future improvements in collaboration with sector partners.
