CCoEWorkshop Three – Resilience, Recovery & Incident Response

Recognising the urgent need to share this message and imbue resilience in the care sector, the Cyber Centre of Excellence, Digital Care Hub, and Care England proudly partnered to deliver the second in a three-part series of educational cyber security workshops designed to prepare all members of the care sector to defend against modern cyber-attacks.

The free online session aimed to empower care leaders, managers and frontline teams from residential and domiciliary care environments with practical, jargon-free advice on how to build digital resilience and protect their organisations from growing cyber threats.

In the 90-minute session, we struck a balance between education and interaction, ensuring care providers of all technical abilities could participate. The structure included one hour of educational content and games, followed by an optional 30-minute open Q&A discussion to address any pressing concerns about cyber risks.

Workshop Three, the final session, focused on continuity and recovery planning. It provided templates, checklists and exercises to help organisations prepare for and respond to cyber incidents. Participants explored tools such as digital twin visualisation and tabletop exercises to build stronger preparedness and resilience.

What You Gained

  • Practical incident response checklists that could be adopted immediately.
  • Guidance on continuity planning and recovery priorities tailored to care settings.
  • A simplified “digital twin” visualisation to support resilience planning.
  • Insight into tabletop exercises and how to test response plans effectively.
  • Tools to move beyond reactive fixes and build long-term cyber resilience.
