As part of the national Fraud by Abuse of Position Awareness Campaign, launching on 7th September 2026, Report Fraud Protect Services is delivering a webinar focused on recognising the warning signs of Abuse of Position and protecting those most vulnerable to financial exploitation.
Fraud by abuse of position occurs when someone abuses their position of authority or trust for personal or financial gain, or so that someone else loses money or status. The perpetrator is often someone the victim knows and trusts, such as a family member, friend, carer, company employee or lasting power of attorney.
This webinar will explore how Abuse of Position occurs, who is most at risk, the warning signs to look out for, investigative case studies, and practical steps individuals, families, carers and professionals can take to prevent exploitation.
The session will also highlight the objectives of the national awareness campaign, showcase resources available to support safeguarding, and encourage organisations and communities to play an active role in protecting vulnerable people from financial harm.
