Derek Breingan
Derek Breingan, Virgin Money
Derek has many years of UK multi banking experience and has been focussed on health & for social care sector for 20 years. Joining Clydesdale Bank in 2010 he was tasked with creating a dedicated specialist proposition and to develop the bank appetite to support the sector and to grow a strong lending portfolio. Derek now leads a team of 25 colleagues dedicated to lending in this sector and managing what is now the largest segment within the Virgin Money Business Bank at over £1.6bn.
With this wide knowledge of social care and real estate the team has financed well over 100 new build care home developments in the last 8 years. The portfolio also includes owner managed, sponsor led, corporates and dedicated sector real estate investment lending across a broad spectrum of sub sectors. Derek is an Ambassador for Championing Social Care, supports Barnardos and the Care Workers Charity.

Professor Martin Green OBE
Professor Martin Green OBE, Care England
Martin Green has had an extensive career in NGO development, both in the UK and internationally, and is the Chief Executive of Care England, the largest representative body for independent social care services in the UK. A Trustee of the National Centre for Creative Health (NCCH), Vice President of The Care Workers Charity, Champion of The National Aids Trust and Commissioner of the Royal Hospital Chelsea.
In 2013 he was appointed Visiting Professor of Social Care at Buckinghamshire New University.
In 2012, in his role as Department of Health and Social Care Independent Sector Dementia Champion, he led the development of the Dementia Care and Support Compact for The Prime Minister’s Challenge on Dementia.
In 2008 he was named care personality of the year and was awarded an OBE for Services to Social Care in the 2012 Queen’s Birthday Honours List. In 2019 he was presented with the Health Investor Outstanding Contribution Award.
Martin Green writes and broadcasts extensively on social care issues and is on the Editorial Board of Community Care Market News and Care Talk magazine.

Alex Ramamurthy

Alex Ramamurthy is a committed entrepreneur with over a decade of experience in the tech startup ecosystem. He currently serves as the VP of Strategic Partnerships and Alliances at Stream, a role that leverages his deep understanding of technology and its application in creating meaningful social impact for over 3 million frontline workers.
Prior to his current position, Alex held key leadership roles as the former CEO of the Care Workers Charity, the former Chairman of the Care Innovation Hub, and former Founder/CEO of Mirthy, an age tech business. Through these roles, he has consistently demonstrated his passion for solving critical challenges within the social care sector.

Rose Thomas-Willis
Rose Thomas-Willis, DHSC
Rose is a Senior Civil Servant in the Department of Health and Social care, and is leading the department’s work on establishing Fair Pay Agreements in the care sector. Rose began her civil service career in DWP in 2012, moved to Cabinet office in 2013, and has been in the Department of Health and Social Care since 2015. Over the last ten years, Rose has worked on a range of health and care policy areas, including: community pharmacy, NHS cyber security and data policy, NHS productivity and Efficiency, Social Care operational resilience including COVID response, Social Care funding, dementia, safeguarding and the Better Care Fund.
