Care England Solar Framework

Care England is launching a national solar framework to ensure care providers get fair, accurate, and trustworthy advice when considering solar energy, and we’re inviting qualified solar installers to join us.

Why we’re doing this

Solar energy has enormous potential to cut costs and carbon across the care sector, but it’s also a market where misinformation, inflated claims, and inappropriate designs are all too common. Care settings are not standard commercial buildings, they have 24-hour operations, strict safety requirements, and unique consumption patterns that require tailored solutions.

Our members have told us they want to adopt renewables, but safely. They need proposals that reflect the reality of their energy use, with credible payback periods and transparent costs. That’s why Care England, with our independent energy specialist, has created a regulated and transparent competition process, so that care providers can explore solar confidently, and installers can compete fairly.

What’s in it for installers

Joining the Care England Solar Framework means access to a nationwide pipeline of care providers actively exploring solar investment. We’ll match you to opportunities by region, provide verified consumption data, and ensure all installers are competing on a level playing field.

We’re not here to sell solar. We’re here to make sure it’s done right.

Rules for participation

To join the framework, all participating installers must agree to operate under the following rules:

  1. No direct contact with care providers without permission from Care England’s appointed energy specialist.
  2. All proposals must be based on the electricity consumption figures and cost data supplied by the energy specialist.
  3. All proposals must be returned to the energy specialist within the agreed timeframe (typically 14 days).

These rules protect both installers and providers, ensuring consistency, transparency, and fair competition.

Installer eligibility criteria

To be considered, installers must demonstrate:

  • Proven financial stability (credit check required)
  • Positive customer feedback or references
  • Membership of recognised trade or professional bodies
  • Coverage within at least one UK region

How it works

  1. Installers express their interest through Care England’s Solar Framework

Application Portal.

  1. Approved installers receive opportunities that match their coverage area.
  2. Care England issues anonymised data for fair, like-for-like proposals.
  3. Our energy specialist reviews all submissions, providing independent feedback to care providers.
  4. Providers select their preferred supplier for a site visit and final quotation.

This process eliminates cold calling, avoids wasted time, and ensures providers receive accurate, verified comparisons, while installers engage with qualified leads in a structured, ethical environment.

Why it matters

The adult social care sector represents more than 17,000 services across the UK, many of which operate on tight margins and face rising energy costs. Together, we can help them take control of their energy future and ensure renewable adoption in social care happens with integrity.

If your business shares our commitment to quality, transparency, and sustainability, we want to hear from you.
