Care England’s Workforce Sense Check Data Survey Document (20.10.21)

Care England is the largest and most diverse representative body for independent care services in England. Our workforce is our most precious resource, without which the social care sector cannot function.

In response to the current recruitment and retention challenges care providers face, Care England has worked with members to understand what problems still persist within the sector, particularly as Winter approaches. The survey ran for one week between 29.09.21 and 07.10.21 and was completed by circa 80 Care England members.

These members varied in size, with 48% of respondents having between 1-5 homes within their portfolio, as well as the care delivered with respondents providing care across residential, domiciliary and supported living settings to older people, those with long-term conditions, learning disabilities, autism and mental health problems.
