Win 3 FREE Care England 2027 Conference Tickets! – We want to hear from your residents & care staff

We are inviting care providers across the country to help us create something special for the Care England 2027 Conference & Exhibition, taking place in March 2027.

As part of the conference opening, we would like to showcase a collection of short, authentic videos from residents, nurses and care staff, sharing what life is really like in a care home – in their own words.

We want to celebrate the people at the heart of social care and give residents and the incredible people who support them the opportunity to share their experiences, stories and perspectives with an audience of care professionals from across the sector.

What are we looking for?

We are asking care homes to record short videos featuring residents, nurses, carers or other members of the care team answering one or more simple questions.

Residents could answer questions such as:
•    What is a typical day like for you?
•    What do you enjoy most about living here?
•    What is your favourite thing to do at the care home?
•    What makes this place feel like home?
•    What friendships have you made here?
•    What is your happiest or funniest memory here?
•    What would you say to someone thinking about moving into a care home?
•    What does good care mean to you?
•    If you could describe your care home in three words, what would they be?

Nurses and care staff could answer questions such as:
•    What do you love most about working in care?
•    What made you choose a career in social care?
•    What is the most rewarding part of your job?
•    What makes your care home special?
•    What is your favourite memory from working here?
•    What have residents taught you?
•    What does providing good care mean to you?
•    What would you say to someone considering a career in social care?
•    What is something about care work that you wish more people understood?

You can choose one question or several, and we encourage you to be creative and let people speak naturally.

From all the videos submitted, we will select the 10 best videos to feature as part of the Care England 2027 Conference welcome/opening video.

Each of the 10 selected care homes will receive 3 FREE tickets to the Care England 2027 Conference & Exhibition in March 2027.

This is a wonderful opportunity for your residents and staff to have their voices heard and for your care home to be part of the opening of one of the sector’s key events.

How to take part

There is no need for the video to be professionally produced. A smartphone recording is absolutely fine. We are looking for genuine, natural and heartfelt responses rather than polished productions. send your video/s to conference@careengland.org.uk

Video length: Ideally 30 seconds – 1 minutes
Format: Smartphone video is absolutely fine
Who can take part: Residents, nurses, carers and other care home staff
Content: Keep it natural, personal and authentic

Videos can be filmed in a communal area, garden, resident’s room or another setting where the person feels comfortable.

Please ensure that the resident, staff member and/or their representative has given the necessary consent for the video to be shared and potentially used as part of the Care England 2027 Conference and related promotional activity.
