In response to the consultation on the updated Adult Social Care (ASC) Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Resource, Care England has built the following page to share the draft guidance which is being consulted on, to share it’s response with members, and gain views ahead of submission.
This resource brings together ASC IPC guidance in a clearer, more accessible format, with the aim of making it easier for people working in adult social care to find and apply practical, consistent IPC advice.
This guidance collection will be the beginnings of a ‘live’ resource collection for all things ASC IPC. Once published, we will continue to produce additional resources and would like to work with you to ensure that these resources meet the needs of the sector. More information on engagement and coproduction can be found below.
The updated ASC IPC resource will consolidate and build upon existing ASC IPC guidance and will replace some existing guidance such as:
- Infection prevention and control in adult social care settings – GOV.UK
- Care homes: infection prevention and control – GOV.UK
Other pathogen specific and supporting IPC guidance materials will continue to exist and will be located within the updated ASC IPC resource collection. These include, but are not limited to:
- Infection prevention and control in adult social care: acute respiratory infection – GOV.UK
- Infection prevention and control for multidrug-resistant organisms in adult social care settings – GOV.UK
The documents under review can be accesses below.
