Cyber incidents can be worrying and disruptive for any care service – but being prepared makes all the difference. This session was part 3 of the CRC Network Care Cyber Series, delivered in partnership with Care Providers Alliance and Care England.
This webinar showed care providers practical ways to assess their current cyber resilience, prepare their teams, and plan what to do if an incident occurred. Using free tools such as the National Cyber Security Centre’s (NCSC) My Cyber Action Toolkit, Police Cyber Alarm, and Cyber PATH, attendees learned how to identify gaps, test their response, and take clear next steps.
No technical expertise was required, the session was designed to be accessible, practical, and relevant for everyone in the care sector.
What the session covered
- Understanding cyber risks in the current care landscape, including pressures on staff and vulnerable clients
- Assessing organisational resilience with the NCSC My Cyber Action Toolkit
- Building or improving an incident response plan and including cyber in business continuity planning
- Practical steps to use Cyber PATH services to strengthen policies, training, and systems
Who attended
Care home owners, registered managers, governance leads, operations managers, mobile carers, and those responsible for safeguarding, compliance, or cyber preparedness in residential and domiciliary care attended the session.
