Care work is physically demanding. From lifting and supporting residents to long hours on their feet, the role places continuous strain on the body.

Research shows that over a quarter of care workers have experienced an injury that required time off. This highlights a critical issue. Training alone is not enough.

Providers must take a broader approach. This includes ensuring equipment is available and maintained, reviewing workflows and considering how the working environment supports staff.

One often overlooked factor is uniform design. Clothing that restricts movement or causes discomfort can increase fatigue and contribute to strain over time.

Simple actions can make a difference. Regular refresher training, open reporting of near misses and involving staff in identifying safer ways of working.

Join the upcoming webinar to explore how providers can reduce physical strain and improve long term workforce sustainability.
